He now spends his winters travelling and surfing around the world. Kate first tried surfing at 16 when her best friend broke her thumb and let her borrow her board... She's been hooked ever since. After studying for three years at Cardiff University for a degree in Psychology and Criminology, Kate returned home to Cornwall and spent last summer working in Portreath as a beach lifeguard. At the same time, Kate qualified as a surf instructor and gained experience working with Nico and Gavin at Perranporth Surf School. Kate has just returned home from New Zealand where she spent the winter months working and surfing. The Cornish summer has brought her back and she will be splitting her time between surf instructing and lifeguarding. |
