WELCOME TO PERRANPORTH SURF SCHOOL

| Surfing is an invigorating and exhilarating sport and, with the right tuition, can be easy (and incredibly enjoyable!) to learn. Perranporth Surf School prides itself on catering for the individual needs of its students, and on providing fun and informative lessons for all ages and abilities. Whether it's your first lesson, or you're looking at improving your skills, you can be assured that our instructors (all qualified to BSA standards) will provide a safe surfing environment and quality instruction, and that you will have a memorable day. |
| The stunning Cornish village of Perranporth is located approximately 10 miles south of Newquay, and is one of the finest surfing locations in Cornwall. The beach, which extends to around 3 miles in length at low tide, offers a variety of waves of varying size and quality, thus offering surfers of all abilities a wide range of choices. The beach is fully lifeguarded between May and September, and with fewer crowds than other popular surfing beaches, Perranporth is one of the safest and most enjoyable places to begin your surfing career! |

Where are we based? |
| We operate from "Alcatraz", which is conveniently located right on the beach, perfect for those sunny summer days... On rare occassions we may meet at Bathsheba Surf, our winter rendezvous point (Nov-May), but unless you hear otherwise, we'll see you at Alcatraz (see map below). |

Please note: During the summer months (May-Oct), we are not able to offer wetsuit boots/gloves as they are not necessary for warmth. However, you may wish to have some protection against Weever fish (particularly in the case of children), in which case, you may wish to hire these seperately from Bathsheba Surf. Rock-pooling shoes (can be bought at Alcatraz/Bathsheba) are also suitable, provided they have soft rubber soles. |
Equipment:
We will provide all necessary equipment for your lesson(s) free of charge. We use quality soft foam surfboards for all beginners (or wherever we feel it necessary), as your safety is paramount, as well as to give you the best opportunity for success. We have a wide range of wetsuits to fit all sizes and shapes, so a to keep our students snug and warm throughout their session. We also have a range of progressive surfboards of varied dimensions to cater for developers and intermediates.
What to Bring:
As we provide all necessary equipment for your lesson (unless you have your own equipment) you need only bring with you a towel and swinwear (to be worn underneath the wetsuit, so preferably nothing too baggy). Don't forget to slap on some high factor sun cream! (SPF 50 is preferable) |
